The IFS Great Lakes Retreat began in 2015 as a way to gather the IFS “tribe” from throughout the Great Lakes region and beyond in an intimate setting in nature to learn together, be inspired, restored, nurtured and bask together in collective Self-energy. We have been blessed to have incredible presenters step forward each year to offer our plenary and workshop sessions that draw from their deep wisdom, creativity, experience and expertise, and also enjoy being led in yoga, on hikes in the Dunes, and just hanging out together making music each evening.
Our retreat venue, Chimney Corners Resort, is a very special place to come together, as it is a “vintage” summer resort nestled within about 300 acres of wooded bluffs and beach on beautiful Crystal Lake, between the communities of Beulah and Frankfort in northwestern Michigan. It’s Lodge, which dates back to 1910, serves as our meeting space, with it’s incredible fireplaces and welcoming, upscale summer camp feel. Lodging for our group is in the resort’s cottages, apartments and Lodge rooms, so participants can specify with whom they would like to share cottages, etc., and we make every effort to arrange things accordingly. Our meals are lovingly created specifically for us by Chef Steve Tebo and his staff at Rocks Landing (formerly the Beach House), Chimney Corners’ on-site casual fine-dining restaurant located directly on spectacular Crystal Lake.
